Even function: symmetric to the y axis

$f(-x)=f(x)$

Example:

$(-x)=x^2$

Odd Function: symmetric to the origin

$f(-x)=-f(x)$

Example:

$f(-x)=(-x)^3$

$f(-x)=-x^3$

$-f(x)=-x^3$

Note: In an odd function the line that connects the two points passes through the origin

There can also be functions that are neither even or odd
